In conclusion, this essay has demonstrated that…

Emphasize the significance of your conclusion.

These findings could have important implications for future research in…

Mention the limitations of your study.

One limitation of this study is that…

Suggest future research directions.

Future research should focus on…

What to include in the conclusion

The conclusion to an essay, project or dissertation has two main functions: it refersback to what you have written, reminding the reader of your argument, and givingsome sort of evaluation and/or interpretation; and it points forward to what you thinkmight or should happen in the future. In their analysis of Conclusion sections ofempirical papers, Weissberg and Buker (1990) suggest there may be up to sixelements:

A、Restatement of purpose (or hypothesis)

B、Summary of main points / findings: whether they support the hypothesis;whether they agree with other researchers' findings

C、Possible explanations for the findings; and/or speculations about them

D、Limitations of the study

E、Implications(generalisations from the findings)

F、Recommendations for future research and practical applications

Structure of a conclusion

-Summarize main points presented in the academic essay

Until we are able to appreciate involuntary minorities, not asan objectified, silent other' but as an active subject, a 'self'with different but valid experiences and perceptions, anyattempts at an educational program that can serve theirinterests would be, at best, incomplete. Failing to acknowledgethe creative power of minority languages and cultures byexcluding them from the curriculum leaves minority studentswith an incomplete, contradictory identity that places them ata disadvantage during their interactions with dominant groups

-Reflect on the consequence, implications or significanceof the ideas presented

An ethical approach to bilingual education would then attemptto present the dominant and minority cultures as standing onequal ground with regards to the potential creativity ofexpression in the student, Only then can education empowerminority individuals to integrate to mainstream society on theitown terms, instead of taking their traditionally assigned role ofsubordinates.
