Essay/paper的introduction，看似只是个开头，无关紧要，但其实有时候决定了一篇文章的最终质量和分数。

Introduction的作用:

• 引出话题• 交代背景• 提出观点

Introduction的组成：

• Lead in/ trigger

• Background/ context description

• Argument/thesis statement/essay purpose

• essay structure/content

Introduction的写法：

1. 先写1-2个sentences作为trigger，目的是attract the attention of readers

2. 背景介绍，此处要引出相关concepts，并有references引用

3. 提出本essay或paper有待解决的problems/issues

4. 交代本essay/paper的purpose或aim，提出中心论点，简明扼要

5. 描述本essay的结构和主要内容，先写什么，再写什么，注意体现清晰的逻辑关系
